Now here's something truly useful: an online calculator to determine how much a given length of shelving will sag. You choose from a wide choice of materials, including hardwoods, softwoods, exotic woods, and sheet stock (like particleboard or MDF, which sadly enough are common shelving materials). Then you specify the dimensions of the shelf, and the load on the shelf. Can also be used as a beam deflection calculator.
